Can you remain Silent?

You can either remain silent and ignore anything that bothers, oppresses you and does not feel right and fair for your 80 years of life given to you by some stroke of luck or you can change everything in 18 days and make a fresh beginning by creating new regimes and new hopes for you and your children.

Are there people out there that still believe that Mubarak was a good leader, that Berluskoni, Sarkozy or Bush are good leaders? Are there still people out there who still believe that there is a good thing such as a good leader? Sure they are and as in the little time of existence of human kind only a few realized that everyone is equal, that leaders are unnecessary once the resources are enough, once human intelligence has gone beyond that point of ignorance and deep inside everyone’s conscience is already imprinted that we are one, we are equal, we can live in peace and what we call impossible is just our personal refusal to reach and focus towards what we consider fair, right, a sense of goodness for everyone. Nevertheless, we still remain ignorant voluntarily, repeating mistakes we already committed in the past and we leave the hope of creating an evolved specie to luck. Some Gaudi, Jesus, Buddha, guru, Einstein, Newton, social scientist, Marks, artist will bare the burden to remind us that we are going the wrong way, wasting time in pursuing what? A shadow of what is already there. Pursuing happiness by building a second house when there is already one house for you to live in. Pursuing well being by doing a job you don’t like by creating excuses. Signing contracts to secure deals when there is no security whatsoever. Creating justice when you know that courts, politicians and the market is what creates inequality. Becoming a lawyer to defend the innocent and in the long run turn into a defendant of the guilty party, the one that can pay you. Become a Christian to seek religious truth and ultimately defeating your purpose by cutting yourself out from the non-Christians, just because you labeled yourself. It seems that any of the above actions are sometimes generated by good intentions but turn out to be the giving of birth to bad consequences. These actions which seem innocent in the beginning result to all misfortune and torture of human kind. Unless you think and practice on the principle that any of my action, ANY, has an effect right now to everybody and really believe it without fooling yourself, without letting this thought being dealt with at a later time there can be no permanent happiness for you, no permanent happiness for anybody. This is a message to those people who are introduced into this culture that you can dream to become something (a banker, a businessman, a politician, a man of power, a man of prestige) without having guilt or remorse and worries about the fact that it is a life of exaggeration and lust, that its true essence is to promote a life of oppression towards others, a life that will diminish the participation of others in the society and withdraw any hope for the other to dream, live and remain sane. This is addressed to those people.

Then there is the other people who already got to that stage. Men of power, lust, will to control, they wish they could hold the world in their hand and squeeze it. Then everybody would respect them, fear them, listen to what they are saying. They want to be heard, its only THEM that they know. Men like Mubarak. They don’t care about what others think, they don’t care about this article, it seems like an utopia to them, it seems like a fairytale, that the world is not like that. It is full of hardships. You know these people, you have met them somewhere, you have feared them sometime, you have hated them at some point and you know that most of the time pose like raw models to the generations to come. It is their power moving the strings, creating the jobs, making the rules, some of you wish you become like them and fear you never will, because these people are not you. The truth is that these people willingly, without encountering any bigger hardship than you did became what they are. Since little children they were self infected with the wish to control, oppress, bully others, make them feel smaller, insignificant, powerless. You let them. No excuse, you let them. I let them when I use the bank, I let them when I vote another to represent my opinion, I let them when I refused to stand up when they told me to shut up. There is no such thing as rights, no such thing as job, no such thing as politics. Everything you do is your life and your job, your vote, your illusion of someone giving you rights is what your life is.

Therefore, to return to the significance of now and here. There is no such thing as the future or the past. There is only now and what I do now and what I act now is what is happening. The thought that I will vote in four years, I will become a world leader to save the world, I will make money to become happy is an illusion and if this is what you are doing right now, it is kidding yourself. The right now is the only thing you have, your only happiness and there will never be nothing more than this. The author is not suggesting that by living in now is to act childish or expose any crazy fantasy that you have in one night. To act now is to focus on the real attributes of you and practice them now. Be your own judge, be you own scientist, be your own guru, you own social and political leader. How can you do this? Can you do it alone? Is the human existence operating in loneliness? That would require a very self disciplined and persistent mind. I myself cannot do it but you can join with the people around you to all these debates, it can be through reading, through joining an anonymous spiritual society, through participating to the commons of your neighborhood. Why don’t you attempt to change. Change requires nothing from you. Actually, change is what you are. To give and take is all there is to be in paradise. To feel part of a grater family. That for the human existence is what there is, like it is for the sun to burn itself, like there is for the bird to fly. Try something different, have your own center of gravity but do not exclude others, be part of something and see… do you feel connected?

Do not fall into the trap of comparing situations and eras. This generation is your generation and this generation was destined by nature to change everything and everything is changing already. Do not compare. Do not fall into the trap of diminishing yourself, I am not good enough, the problem of lacking self esteem is not a problem at all, you are already in the ambience of what you are destined to do and what you are destined is to expose yourself and let your thoughts and wills eject right now. What do I want right now? Right now I want to live in a united world. I am united. Right now I want to be a writer, a singer, a professor, a guru, I want to join, be loved, be admired and right now you already are that. Stay with that thought. Repeat the thought. I want to be an author, I want to read a good book. Search a book , get it in your hands and read it. Sit down right your first poem. I want to be an astronaut. Go outside, see the sky, get a book that explains the star complexes. Do it now. Nothing is scientific in this world, forget the word science. Whoever sounds scientific will not resolve much, he will add to the confusion. Science has little meaning if not applied and attached in real life. To know the gravitational theory is one thing but to teach it to the other by building a barometer, flying a model airplane, observing the moon moving through a telescope, that is a true teaching through playing. Why don’t you play with your senses when learning? Then everything is easy and even when you have to struggle for your cause, then life has your own hardships but they are your hardships, not inflicted by somebody else. Then it is you acting. You rebelling, you revolting…

This is a conversation and whatever objections may arise to the reader, the writer is trying to address them beforehand. However, this conversation is an endless one, not because everything may be said and be objected as to the way we should live, this is not a teaching. This is a conversation as to how the writer has experienced joys, worries, depressions, anger, love and at some point realized that many people have gone through the same processes of life and if these are repeated processes experienced by many, then there must be some way out of them to freedom. Then it hit me that all that I am thinking all the others must be thinking and although I am bound by the thought that I am alone, all the others must have the same thought. What would be the way to freedom then? To communicate these thoughts, which in essence are your thoughts too. This conversation will go on to show where the line of communication leads, what a liberating ride it is and how we think, feel and act as one when being honest to each other and where that leads when fear , hesitation and oppression are shaken off both mentally and physically.

This conversation is about one existence and one life, it is about the revolution of the heart and the mind, it is also about the true role models who have gone unnoticed and will be here for anybody who wants to participate and contribute to follow the trails of the unheard opinion, the unheard story, the unheard obviousness of the meaning of existence. We start with one of the many anonymous voices, an Egyptian in UK talking about the incidents that unraveled lately in his own country. One small voice…of such great significance.
